Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 5 lbs russet potatoes
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 cup salted butter
  • 4 tbs salt

Notes

  • Be sure to start with cold water when boiling potatoes to ensure they cook evenly throughout.
  • Recommended to eat with french cut green beans and meatloaf.

Directions

  1. Wash, peel and cut potatoes into ~2in pieces
  2. Rinse potatoes, then cover with 3” of cold water in a pot
  3. Bring to a boil on high then bring it down to between medium and medium-high for approximately 20 minutes, until can easily poke with fork. They shouldn’t fall apart, so not too soft!
  4. Strain potatoes and drain water
  5. Put potatoes in bowl and add butter, milk and salt and mix using a hand mixer until smooth.
