Snickerdoodles

Ingredients

Cookie Dough

  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • ½ cups butter (softened)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 whole and 2 egg whites
  • 2 ¾ cups flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt

Sugar Mixture

  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Directions

Cookie Dough

  1. Mix together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
  2. In separate bowl, mix sugar, butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Then mix in eggs.
  3. Add flour mixture and mix until just combined
  4. Refrigerate dough for at least 1 hour

Sugar Mixture

  1. Preheat oven to 400ºF (200ºC)
  2. Mix together sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  3. Shape dough into 1 ¼ inch balls and roll into sugar mixture, then place onto ungreased cookie sheet
  4. Flatten each ball with flat bottom of drinking glass
  5. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet after 5 minutes to wire rack to cool completely
