Ingredients
- (165g) brown sugar
- (150g) white sugar (+ extra to sprinkle on top)
- (270g) flour
- 1 ⅛ tsp cinnamon
- ¾ tsp baking soda
- ⅜ tsp baking powder
- ⅜ tsp salt
- ⅜ tsp nutmeg
- (225g) apples (shredded)
- (225g) butter (melted)
- 3 eggs
Notes
- Sugars are considered wet ingredients.
- This recipe can be prepared in a single big bowl, making it easier for cleaning
Directions
- Add brown sugar to bowl and break up clumps. Then add white sugar and mix.
- Add all remaining dry ingredients and whisk together.
- Grate apple on cheese grater and set aside in bowl. No need to peel.
- Melt butter and add to mixture along with beaten eggs. Mix until just combined.
- Add shredded apple and fold in.
- Pour into cake pan, lined with parchment paper, and top with sugar.
- Bake for 20 min at 350ºF (180ºC).
- Let cool on wire rack for 20 min before removing from cake pan.
